Author Interview

1. What inspired you to start writing?

I’ve enjoyed writing since grammar school. For many reasons, I never pursued it. However, for the last years the desire to write began to burn inside me, threatening to consume me whole. When I gave in and started writing, I knew I had found a purpose.   

2. What is your writing ritual (if you have one)?

I never acquired a ritual. I have two children and a day job. I write at night, weekends, and whenever I get a chance.

3. Who is your Favourite Author?

Stephenie Meyer, Hugo Victor, and Charles Dickens.

4. What are your favourite books? All time and book-of-the-moment.

Bible, Tale of Two Cities, Twilight Saga, Los Miserables, The Fault in Our Stars.

5. What writing support network do you have?

Social media offers a great platform for self-publishing authors. It connects me to readers from all corners of the world. It’s amazing. But bloggers set the wheels in motion. They devote a tremendous amount of time promoting books. Bloggers are the most important marketing tool to a self-publishing author. I’m still in awe of how much support I get from them.

6. What is your most loved and most loathed moments of writing/publishing?

I love every single aspect of writing. The thrill of writing the first lines of a story is my favorite. I do however dislike the marketing aspect. I’m shy and introverted. Though I like to talk to people about all things book, I wish I could remain hidden behind my laptop, just writing away.

7. What do your fans mean to you?

The thought of a person taking the time to read what I write is humbling. I can’t wrap my brain around it. I write because I am passionate about it, but to have someone enjoying it means more than I can ever express. I am immensely thankful.
 

About the Author

 

I have found that there is only one thing better than reading, and that is writing. I am always torn between the two. I am also frequently torn between chocolate and coffee. However, I emphatically do not like the month of February, lies, and flies. For me, bravery is defined by the courage to do what we fear the most.
